We all here at Heavy for the Vintage just wanted to stop and acknowledge our one-month anniversary, and to thank all of you for reading us, following us, liking us, retweeting us, and linking to us.
Just to give you an idea of our first month’s overall numbers, we have had 12,000 page views and 7,000 unique visitors since we began, with our top three traffic-days achieving 703, 639, and 604 unique visitors respectively.
Here’s the thing: Artists and other creatives can be an arrogant bunch (in fact, according to Andrew Romano, and contra Malcolm Gladwell’s thesis about achieving greatness, The Beatles didn’t succeed because of all the hours they logged onstage in Hamburg, they succeeded because they thought their music was better than everyone else’s and therefore it deserved to be heard by as many people as possible).
We wouldn’t be doing this if we didn’t feel like our stuff was worthy to be looked at, read, thought about, and appreciated. I remember hearing Bono say of U2 that they were a band before they even knew how to play their instruments. Well, I look at each of the contributors here at HFTV and see something special and amazing in each one of them, something unique and important that I think they should share with the world.
So please, stay tuned. And as far as what you can do to help us, well, we only have 183 Facebook followers and (wait for it) 11 followers on Twitter. So if you wouldn’t mind, please help increase our platform by following us and, more importantly, sharing our tweets and posts to as many people as you can. We’re all excited to see where this thing will go, but we need your help!
Cheers,
Jason
